Sama Gud ki Kheer | Vratwale Chawal (Morayo)ki Kheer |वरीच्या तांदळाची खीर | Ashadi Ekadashi Special

Hey Foodies,

Welcome back to Nicely Spicy -So Tasty So Yummy So Easy. Today's recipe is Aashadi Ekadashi Special - Sama Gud ki Kheer - Sugar free healthy dessert for fasting.

RECIPE CARD:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Sama Rice/Morayo/Vari che Tandul

1/2 cup Jaggery/Gud, grated

2 cups/500 ml Milk/Dudh

2 tbsp Mixed Dry Fruits, chopped


Method:

  1. Boil milk in a heavy bottomed pan.

  2. Wash the sama rice and add to the boiling milk.

  3. Cook the sama rice on medium flame for 10 minutes.

  4. Add jaggery & cook till it dissolves.

  5. Add dry fruits and cook till they soften for a minute or so. Reserve some for garnish.

  6. Cover and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.

  7. Stir occasionally. Rice is cooked when the grains can be mashed between two fingers.

  8. Stir well. The kheer will be thick and creamy.

  9. Add reserved chopped dry fruits and serve with fruits for a wholesome & healthy fasting diet.

  10. This kheer tastes more yummy when served chilled.

  11. You may add Kesar/Saffron and/or Cardamom/Elaichi powder for extra flavor.
